Gas In Multi-Occupancy Buildings Remedial Works
Working to ensure the continued safe conveyance of gas across Scotland !
At MCP Scotland, we have been diligently undertaking a comprehensive scheme of remedial works addressing the building fabric of gas risers in multiple occupancy structures across the country. Our work extends to various stakeholders, including Factors, Private Owners, House Builders, and Housing Associations. We are committed to delivering an unparalleled level of service as a leading contractor in this field. Commonly referred to as Gas In Flats works, these essential remedial activities are vital for ensuring the safe and continuous conveyance of gas.
These significant works have often been neglected over the years, with a lack of understanding regarding the associated responsibilities leading to the disregard of Independent Gas Transport (IGT) reports. This neglect has resulted in buildings being left in a precarious state, at risk of gas isolation. The two predominant IGTs are Last Mile Asset Management and GTC, with whom MCP Scotland has established productive working relationships, successfully completing building fabric remediation to their satisfaction.
These works vary in scale and scope at each location but follow core areas; Ventilation, Pathways For Gas, Access and Encroachment of Utilities. The works can also slightly differ depending on the year of gas pipeline being commissioned. It is also very important to understand that these works are not about improvement of the building fabric in the gas risers, instead these works fix issues to ensure compliance at the time of commissioning - for example if your development was built in 2005, it would to the standards of TD4 Ed4 and not the current G5 Ed3.
We pride ourselves on being the best building contractor in Scotland to deliver these works. We are the only contractor in Scotland to have completed the IGEM training course, which equips us with a comprehensive understanding of the pertinent issues and the most effective remediation strategies to ensure the safe conveyance of gas.
MCP Scotland offers a diverse range of services tailored to facilitate these essential works:
